'Emmerdale' star loves pole dancing

Emmerdale star Sammy Winward has revealed that pole dancing helps her to keep in shape.

The actress, who plays Katie Sugden on the ITV1 soap, explained that she spends half-an-hour each day on a pole installed at her house.

"I haven't had any lessons yet but I've taught myself a lot of moves," Sammy told The Sun. "I can't do the upside-down stuff but I can do all the spins - it really helps firm up different parts of my body."

Winward added that feeling confident about her appearance is very important to her.

"I'm always walking around my house naked - I'll walk around with no clothes on in front of my sister and my mum," she said. "I feel happy with myself and that's very important."

Sammy is up for Sexiest Female at tonight's British Soap Awards.
