Former 'Allo, 'Allo! star Vicki Michelle has signed up for a role in Emmerdale.

The actress, who played Yvette Carte-Blanche in the classic sitcom, will arrive on the Dales later this summer as Patricia, the mother of Jonny Foster (Richard Grieve). Patricia comes to pay a short visit because she wants to make sure that Jonny's boyfriend Paul Lambert (Mathew Bose) meets her high standards.

Vicki will perform in scenes with her friend Patrick Mower, who plays Paul's father Rodney.

"I'm very excited about appearing in Emmerdale. Patricia is such a flamboyant character; she'll be fantastic fun to play," Vicki revealed. "Emmerdale is a great show and I'm looking forward to working with friends like Patrick Mower."

Vicki begins filming in Yorkshire this week and will make her appearance on the ITV1 soap at the end of August.
