Adele Silva speaks about emotional exit

Emmerdale star Adele Silva has spoken about her emotional exit from the ITV1 soap.

Silva, who plays Kelly Windsor, has revealed that she is leaving the Yorkshire-based show at the start of October and that she got tearful when she first read through the plans for her departure.

"She's [Kelly] having a little break," she explained. "I can't tell you exactly how she leaves, but my final episode is an hour special and it's on October 9.

"I loved the script, I actually cried when I read it."

Talking about her future plans, Silva added: "I'd like to do some travelling, and I'd love to play some other parts. It'd be great to play someone who's the complete opposite to Kelly, you know, so that's kind of my main aim."
