Carter drinks pint in Woolpack at 9:30am

Emmerdale's Alex Carter has admitted to drinking a pint on set at 9.30 am.

The actor, who plays Jamie Hope in the Yorkshire-based soap, confessed that he once supped an alcoholic beverage while filming a scene in The Woolpack because he was "a bit thirsty".

He told The Sun: "We were filming a scene in the pub and I decided to have a pint even though it was only 9.30am as I was a bit thirsty.

"The beer served there is real and the pint was in front of me. It was just too tempting. It was a one-off, probably my first and last early morning pint."

Carter, 25, first appeared in the ITV show in February 2006. Previously he played Lee Hunter in Hollyoaks for four years.
