Time to give 'Emmerdale' a chance?

Now I haven't been a fan of Emmerdale for the last few years and I've made no bones about it. As I'm sure many will agree, it hasn't been the most comfortable viewing.
However... As you probably read last month, I popped up to see the guys and girls at Emmerdale HQ in Leeds to see what all the fuss regarding their so-called 'reinvention' is about.
As I mentioned at the time, after speaking with the show's new series producer Gavin Blyth, I gained a new-found confidence in the ailing soap.
From then, I vowed to begin watching religiously from this week's episodes and after watching them on DVD at the weekend, I was pleasantly surprised by what I saw.
Granted, it's not back at full-steam just yet - it's still quite frayed around the edges as, after all, it's a work in progress. But I'm pleased to say that it's worth a look at least.
I'm a huge fan of Amanda Donohoe and Kim Thomson and their performances during tonight's instalment are superb.
So, if you have an hour to spare from 7pm and you haven't watched Emmerdale in a while, it's probably worth a watch...

This work in progress does not appear to recognise the fact that loyal viewers are frustrated at the extremely slow pace that the new characters are being developed. It seems to be making the assumption that we will put up with very low quality episodes because an improvement has been promised. Loyalty works both ways and may be eroded beyond repair by the time these changes occur...if they happen at all.

Why do the Wyldes have to monopolise the show?.

I used to love emmerdale, but now its just boring, no way near as good as it used to be when it was great television. I hope its a return to form and the reinvention actually works!

Emmerdale has always been my fave soap, and i have always stood by it, even during its bad spell, i stuck by it as i knew it would get better, like it is doing. I am loving it more than ever at the minute with the Wyldes, Cain, Andy/Debbie/Sarah and Andy's downfall etc. I am also really looking forward to the return on Charity, and the new family arriving.

Emmerdale is one of the most under-appreciated soaps of all time! It never wins any awards and it is a shame because it really deserves some. The acting from Charley Webb and Jenna-Louise Coleman, in particular, deserved some recognition.
