Siān Reeves on Sally's future, potential exit and more!

Published Tuesday, Nov 3 2009, 06:00 GMT | By Kris Green | 5 comments
I recently caught up with the lovely Siān Reeves, who plays Emmerdale's deranged psycho Sally Spode, for a chat about the dramatic fire that's about to unfold on our screens. For those who haven't already read, Sally's intent on becoming Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy) in the hope that she'll be able to rekindle her childhood romance with Ashley (John Middleton).

So, in true avenged lover-style, she locks Laurel in the church and causes a fire. She doesn't, however, think of the repercussions of her actions or potential interference from a third party. This, ladies and gentleman, is where her plan falls to pieces.

Click here to read what Siān has to say about the plot, or read on for some exclusive bonus quotes about Sally's future in Emmerdale, her screen husband Vincent and her dream exit from the Dales.

Where does Sally go from here?
"My biggest task now is to try and make people feel a little sorry for her, but everyone's hating her! Sally's furious by the outcome of the fire, but she lives short-term. Sally's running the house, looking after the children and Ashley thinks that Sally's wonderful for helping. Sally tries to show Ashley that Laurel's not needed and is unnecessary! It's awful, really! It's not all over for her, though. There's a chilling scene coming up beyond Laurel's return from hospital. It's still Sally's aim to get rid of her. She'll keep at it…"

Will we be seeing Vincent again?
"I don't know. He could come and cart me off, couldn't he?! There's going to be something, though, surely."

Can you give us any teasers as to how it all ends?
"I can't! I'm hoping that she'll drown herself! It has to be something as fabulous as that. Unrequited love and utter madness."

Could she set up her own death to look like a murder?
"I don't know if she'd want to blame someone for murdering her. She'll try to do something that'll make Ashley love or remember her forever. Something that Ashley will never be able to erase from his memory. Maybe hang herself in the church or something - now that'd be an indelible print!"

And Charlotte Bellamy's just had her little baby!
"Yes! I haven't had a chance to see her yet… but I've been in constant contact, though, because I'm very good friends with Charlotte. Of all the people to try and kill in Emmerdale! I love her daughter's name, too - Teddie Boo Florence. When she's older, she can just be Ted."
