A new Dingle in the Dales...
Published Sunday, Feb 24 2008, 12:31 GMT | By Kris Green | 17 comments
Emmerdale hasn't provided any fresh pickings for a while, but that's all about to change.
Rumour has it there's a new Dingle about to pop up in the Dales. Firm details of the latest addition should surface at some point next week.
Meanwhile, I have to congratulate Emmerdale writers for the quality of Thursday's episode 'Heartbreak', which saw the sad and tragic cot death of baby Daniel. Charlotte Bellamy (Laurel) was outstanding.
When the one-hour, storyline-focussed weekly outings were announced, I was quite cynical as to whether there would be the quality to uphold the plan. But if 'Heartbreak' is anything to go by, I think they've got the measure spot on. Keep it up, Emmerdale. I'm hoping Anita Turner has been the catalyst of better things for the ITV soap.
Which new Dingle family member would you like to see move into the Village? Or are you bored of Dingle mania and don't want to see any more? Think Emmerdale's turned the corner? Let me know your thoughts by using the usual form below!

I say yeah, bring another Dingle in but take a couple out i.e. Eli, Sam & maybe even Debbie! Bring back Mandy Dingle... I'm sure there's unfinished business for her in the village - if not, I feel Paddy's time in the village should be limited!

According to Tina Baker, the new Dingle is a girl called Genesis and she's Chas' long-lost sister.

Think Emmerdale is superb. The best soap by far. Am not fussed either way by any new Dingles, but think the Laurel/Ashley storyline is superb, with Charlotte Bellamy being an absolute star, she made me weep with the anguish she portrayed. Let's hope in the Soap Awards this year that they get the honours they so richly deserve.

Why not bring in one of the Venice Dingles? Or better still, make a change and stop everything revolving around Jack's family and bring in someone from another part of the family, such as Samuel David Skilbeck, son of Matt and Dolly, (he should be about 26) or Joseph Tate, son of Chris and Rachel Hughes (he should be around 13 now).

Please don't bring any more Dingles into the show. There's enough of them in the show as it is without the producers bringing in any more and they tend to monopolise the show.

I'd like to see the unmentioned 'Nathan Dingle' oldest son of Zack that is on his family tree living in London but kept hidden. I think he's a posh Dingle.

All credit to the the script writers and all actors involved in this episode but Emmerdale is no longer exciting. The edge has gone completly. Even yesterday it was back down to its boring self.

I don't really want a new Dingle really. But I would like Del, Charity, Mandy and Eli/Marlon's father back for short or long term stints.

Instead of bringing in a new Dingle, Del should come back. I miss her.

I think it will be great to see a new Dingle. So many have left and they are the best soap family so I hope it is true!
