Victoria is miserable when Scarlett buys Daz a more extravagant gift than she has but Daz makes her feel better by telling her he loves the St. Christopher she bought him. Val catches Daz and Victoria kissing and Victoria is heartbroken when Daz betrays her by telling Val that it was her that came onto him and runs off.
Drinking with Jake, Daz, Scarlett and Aaron, Victoria slides onto the frozen lake in the grounds of Home Farm and falls through the ice and into the icy water. Victoria, in the murky water, has a moment of relief as she grabs onto a hand until she realises it's lifeless and her strength fails. Daz plunges into the gloom but can’t find Victoria.

Meanwhile, the villagers gather at the church for Ashley’s final service and everyone is confused by Nicola’s chipper mood. At the service Ashley delivers a moving final sermon leading Edna to berate the packed congregation for not doing more to save the church.

On a side road outside the village the pair notice vehicles, local press and camera crews heading to the village and Pollard realises they’ve been stitched up. With the local news painting him as scrooge Pollard withdraws his offer for the church to the delight of everyone. Will Laurel and Ashley’s Merry Christmas translate into a happier New Year?

Later, Laurel arrives to visit Jasmine and she shrugs off questions about Drake’s visit the other day. Debbie is pleased with how well Jasmine is coping. Can they keep up the pretence long enough to get away with murder?
