
Mark leaves and heads home to explain the situation to Natasha. He reveals that Faye asked him to help Ryan find alternative employment. At Faye's flat, Ryan isn't impressed to return home and find his mother smashing up their crockery in tears. Ryan tells her that he'll be joining the army but insists that he'll sort out her problems with Mark before he leaves.
At the hotel, Mark's shocked when Natasha insists they live separate lives for the foreseeable future. He soon begins to realise just how much everything has affected her when Natasha claims that she can see no way to revive their marriage. Are the Wyldes heading for divorce?
Meanwhile, Gennie's in two minds over whether to go on her internet date. Brenda's concerned when she assumes her daughter's going on a date with Jamie, so they're left with no choice but to explain about the internet site. Gennie reassure her by revealing that Jamie is her moral support in case the guy is a weirdo.

Gennie, however, bemoans her rotten luck and claims that she'll always be alone. Can Jamie find another way to raise her spirits?
Elsewhere, despite being under orders from Edna, David resents being pushed into a confrontation with Pollard. Pollard explains to David that he's only days away from closing the factory altogether.
David's torn when his father goes on to admit that he's facing financial ruin - and the funeral parlour may be his only hope. Edna reminds him that he was voted in as he swore to serve the village. David's caught between a rock and a hard place, but which side will he choose?
