Val returns to Emmerdale

Brenda corners Gennie and Nikhil in the café about having a meal with her, Pollard and Amy. At the same time, Val arrives at The Woolpack - oblivious to what has been going on between Pollard and Brenda. She tells Chas and Cameron that she is back for good.

Shortly after lunch begins at Pollard's barn, Nikhil makes an excuse and leaves. Heading to The Woolpack, he's shocked to see Val. Nikhil runs back to Pollard's barn in an attempt to warn Gennie that Val is back. He arrives out of breath but it's too late as Val also turns up, leaving everyone shocked. Val is brazen as she attempts to help herself to Pollard's wine as the others watch in disbelief. Pollard is then left to wonder what he should do…

Meanwhile, Ali is outside Sean's school waiting for her reading class when she spots her son having words with fellow pupil Dylan, who is mocking Ali for not being able to read. As things escalate, Ali sees red and a teacher soon catches her grabbing Dylan. The teacher warns Ali that if Dylan's parents wish to pursue this, he will support them. Back at home later, the headmaster phones to inform Ali that she is now banned from the school premises, which means she cannot attend her literacy class.

Elsewhere, Rishi advises Jai to tell Charity how much he loves his stepson.
