Ashley tells his children the truth

Diane encourages Ashley to do some shifts in the pub, but Marlon is thrown to find Ashley there when he turns up for work. Later, Ashley goes to Mulberry to explain the situation to his children. Laurel tries to avoid it, but Ashley is determined, controlled and reasonable as he explains to the kids that Marlon is their mummy's new boyfriend.

Laurel thanks Ashley for how he handled things, but it's obvious that Ashley is livid as he explains that he hasn't done it for her. Rodney seems to be the only person who can get through to Gabby, so he invites her for tea. Struggling with the disdain Gabby has for her, Laurel agrees that she can go.

Meanwhile, Marlon passes Rhona and Paddy outside the vet's. They snipe at each other, and Paddy admits that he feels bad for the way Ashley found out about Marlon and Laurel. Later, Rhona returns from seeing the solicitor and shocks Paddy by suggesting that they should go to New Zealand anyway. She points out that once they are there, there isn't much Marlon can do. After looking further into it, Paddy suggests they should give Marlon one more chance to compromise and if they can't agree, they'll just go…

Elsewhere, Amy is gutted when Kerry stands her up but then discovers her drunkenly flirting with Andy in the pub, Alex and Victoria decide to give things another go but agree to keep it to themselves for the time being, while Declan surprises Katie with a pair of diamond earrings for her birthday.
