Emma Rigby laughs off WAG tag

Hollyoaks's Emma Rigby has claimed that she is not a WAG, despite going out with Doncaster Rovers footballer Matthew Mills.

The 18-year-old, who stars as Hannah Ashworth in the Chester-based soap, insisted that she should not be compared to Victoria Beckham or Cheryl Cole.

She told the Daily Star: "I don't consider myself a WAG at all, in fact it makes me laugh every time someone says something like that to me.

"There's certain images you get when you hear that word and I am none of those things. There are a lot of women out there who are WAGs and have very successful careers, like Cheryl Cole and Victoria Beckham.

"Clearly I am nowhere near their league but I really respect them for what they do, for making a career for themselves and being successful."

Rigby picked up the best actress prize at this year's British Soap Awards.
