'Hollyoaks' Kris hopes for Corrie part

The 27-year-old, who plays Kris Fisher in the Channel 4 soap, has expressed his wish to play an Irish relative of the Connor family in the Manchester-based programme.
Speaking to Inside Soap, he said: "I've love to be part of the Connor family in Coronation Street - they are in desperate need of a real Irish member. And when I was growing up, I always wanted to play Jim McDonald's long-lost son."
Assuming a place in Weatherfield's Connor family tree would also mean that he would be working with close friend Kym Marsh (Michelle Connor).
Speaking of his pal, he added: "Kym is one of my best mates. We both appeared in the West End musical Saturday Night Fever in 2003, and I love her to bits. She only lives about 20 minutes from me so we often hook up and hang out with her kids."
