'Hollyoaks' band to release single
A song performed by four Hollyoaks characters on-screen will get a real-life release later this month, it has been revealed.

Viewers of the Channel 4 soap have seen Josh Ashworth (Sonny Flood), Michaela McQueen (Hollie-Jay Bowes), Sasha Valentine (Nathalie Emmanuel) and Amy Barnes (Ashley Slanina-Davies) launching their own band, the Dirty Diegos, in recent months.

The group's electropop single 'Play' is now set to hit stores on November 24. The song will be promoted by a 'live' performance on Hollyoaks in the week of release.

"It's really exciting and took me totally by surprise," admitted Bowes, who provides lead vocals on the track. "I didn't think Hollyoaks were serious when they told me - but the next thing I know, we're shooting a video!"

'Play' was originally recorded by Roxanne Wilde's band Dimestars. The group split in 2001.
