Barry Sloane: 'Niall might not be dead!'
Published Monday, May 11 2009, 20:12 BST | By Kris Green
Ex-Hollyoaks actor Barry Sloane has hinted that his deranged alter ego Niall Rafferty may have survived his potentially fatal cliff plunge.
Sloane, who reappeared as Niall in Hollyoaks Later last November, made his exit from the serial when he fell backwards off a cliff in the Scottish highlands.
However, speaking to DS on the red carpet at this year's British Soap Awards, he said: "They could do...[Niall] may have washed up and ended up in the estuary of the River Dee, you never know."
He added: "That door's always open for him...you never saw the body. It was quite a fall, though. Niall was made of galvanized metal, so he was fine, I'm sure."
