POTD: Ravi and Calvin's illegal fight in 'Hollyoaks'
Published Friday, Jul 17 2009, 10:35 BST | By Kris Green
As Ravi (Stephen Uppal) continues to experience dizzy spells as a result of his aneurysm, Ash (Junade Khan) is completely unaware of his brother's ailing health and continues to push him into an illegal street fight.
However, when the original opponent pulls out, Ravi's forced to do battle with Calvin (Ricky Whittle).
Speaking exclusively to DS, Uppal explained: "At first it's just a random opponent but at the last minute, the arranged person can't make the fight for some reason. Ash starts to panic because he's put a lot of money into it all. On top of that, he's dealing with some really nasty people, so if the fight doesn't go ahead he's probably going to end up getting his legs broken.
"He desperately starts searching for another fighter. Ash knows that Calvin's down on his luck [and] convinces him to fight for money."
He continued: "Neither of us have a clue that we're fighting each other, and it's not until that last minute when I'm in the ring and Calvin steps in that the penny drops. There's a bit of a tussle where we're both not fighting because we are both good friends, but it's too late by then - the crowd's gathered and we have to fight."

Hollyoaks airs tonight at 6.30pm on Channel 4.
