Loui Batley reveals theatre ambitions

Loui Batley has announced that she is hoping to secure musical theatre roles following her departure from Hollyoaks.

The 22-year-old actress made her final appearance as Sarah Barnes last night as a tragic skydive incident claimed the student's life in spinoff Hollyoaks Later.

Batley had confirmed her decision to quit the Chester-based drama in July after nearly four years in the role of Sarah.

Revealing her future ambitions in an interview with DS, she commented: "I did a lot of musical theatre before I started in the show and that was my main thing. Then I got offered acting jobs and that took over.

"I'd love to go into musical theatre again. Obviously I'd love to do straight acting as well but it would be great to dabble."

Asked if she would appear in another soap, Batley replied: "You can never say never but at the moment I need a bit of a soap break. If the part was right I would, definitely."

Viewers will see the dramatic consequences of Sarah's death in tonight's final episode of Hollyoaks Later at 9pm on E4.
