Lister reveals 'Oaks trial plot details
Zoë Lister has revealed that her Hollyoaks character struggles to prove her innocence in this week's court scenes.

The 27-year-old's alter ego Zoe Carpenter has been wrongly accused of murder after her friend Sarah Barnes (Loui Batley) died in suspicious circumstances during a skydive attempt earlier this year.

In reality, jealous Lydia Hart (Lydia Kelly) was the person responsible for sabotaging Sarah's parachute before her death, but she has so far managed to escape detection by framing Zoe for the crime.

Speaking to DS about how the trial progresses, Lister explained: "Zoe's just wondering what lies Lydia's going to come up with next. Lydia's actually really convincing and after the first day, Zoe almost resigns herself to the fact that she's going to prison.

"Zoe knows the truth, though - she knows she's innocent, so she really has to fight for justice for Sarah and herself."

On how Zoe copes when she takes the stand, she continued: "It's not great at all. The prosecution rip her to bits and she comes across as this unhinged, obsessed girl who's very capable of cutting the parachute cords."

Show producers are keeping tight-lipped over whether Zoe will be jailed at the end of the case. However, Lister has confirmed that an old diary belonging to Sarah could prove crucial when her father Mike (Tony Hirst) takes it to court.

She said: "Zoe's panicking about the verdict in court and all of a sudden a new witness comes to light and Mike walks into the courtroom with the diary. So that's a bit of a lifeline for Zoe, but will it be enough to save her from a long spell in prison?"
