Junade Khan abseils for Christian Aid
Former Hollyoaks star Junade Khan and a group of fellow charity supporters have raised £5,500 for Christian Aid by taking part in a sponsored abseiling event.

Khan, who played Ash Roy on the Chester-based soap, was one of 29 participants who abseiled 50 metres down the Mersey Tunnel Ventilation Station in Birkenhead.

As well as taking part in the challenge, the soap star was also on hand to support the other abseilers.

Explaining his support for the 'Mega Mersey Abseil', Khan commented: "I know that Christian Aid does some amazing work around the world, and so I was happy to support anyone brave enough to do the Mega Mersey Abseil.

"It's a part of the world I know well from my time in Hollyoaks, so I'm glad to have been involved and helped people to help others in some of the world's poorest countries."

Khan's personal fundraising page is still open for donations and can be found here.
