Riley: 'It'll be sad to leave Hollyoaks'

Hollyoaks actor Kent Riley has expressed his sadness over his departure from the show after four years.

The 26-year-old, who plays Zak Ramsay in the Channel 4 teen soap, will be written out later this year to make way for a plethora of new cast members as producer Paul Marquess continues the programme's revamp.

Speaking to Digital Spy on the red carpet at this year's British Soap Awards, Riley said: "A little bit sad. It's been three-and-a-half, nearly four years now. In terms of the character, it's sad because he's much-loved but personally, it's a good time for me to move on to... different things... There are a few auditions coming up, so we'll just have to wait and see."

On whether he would join EastEnders if former boss Bryan Kirkwood called, he joked: "I can do accents you know! I'm not limited to my Scouse! It would be interesting to have a Scouser taking over the Square!"
