The actor bowed out from the Channel 4 soap earlier this year and fans are about to see his last episode in the role of Barry 'Newt' Newton.
In an interview with Holy Soap, the 19-year-old was asked whether he shed any tears as his time with the serial came to an end.
Mirallegro replied: "Yeah, there were a few tears but they weren't scripted, they were genuine. Helen [Pearson] and I were sad saying goodbye in the goodbye scenes.
"I've really enjoyed my three years at Hollyoaks. I worked with the most amazing people."
Asked who he plans to keep in touch with, he replied: "I lived with Ashley Taylor-Dawson, who plays Darren. We are like brothers in a way. I am still in touch with him. And Nick Pickard and Jimmy McKenna. I still keep in touch with everyone."
Mirallegro recently announced that he had landed a role in forthcoming movie McQueen.
