Atkin hints at more 'Hollyoaks' drama

Hollyoaks star Victoria Atkin has hinted that there will be more drama ahead for her troubled character Jasmine Costello.

Last week, viewers saw Jasmine's story reach a turning point as her boyfriend Bart McQueen (Jonny Clarke) discovered her secret in the final episode of E4 spinoff show Hollyoaks Later.

Previously, Bart had been unaware that Jasmine has Gender Identity Disorder and believes she was born into the wrong body. In recent months, fans have seen the schoolgirl dress up and act like a boy named Jason as part of her desperate desire to be a member of the opposite sex.

Writing on Twitter following the conclusion of Hollyoaks Later, Atkin commented: "To all the people who have left me such amazing comments regarding my performance in the Laters, thank you so much - lots of love."

She added: "The Jasmine/Jason and Bart continues in the main episodes and there is a lot more in store, the journey has just begun…"

Atkin made her Hollyoaks debut in August and has worked with a number of transgender teenagers while researching her alter ego's storyline.
