Rawle - who played Amos Diggory in the fourth Potter film - has taken on the role of the soap's sinister new villain Cameron for a dark murder plotline.
In scenes which air later this week, Cameron will kill Kingston's character India Longford after striking up a 'friendship' with her online and arranging to meet her. He will then cover her body with some rolled-up carpet before dumping it in the woods.
Speaking to the Liverpool Echo, Kingston explained: "Jeff is amazing and I was so pleased when I found out he would be playing Cameron.
"But it was quite weird because, when he wasn't in character, he was so lovely. He plays the nice guy in the story very well, but then he was really good at switching to this sinister side."
Discussing the attack scene, the actress added: "We shot it on the path which leads to Lime Pictures in Childwall, and they hosed it down so it was all wet and creepy looking.
"We were supposed to do it on my 24th birthday, but the schedule ended up being extended so I didn't have to get murdered on my birthday after all!
"I got a double for the carpet scene too, which made me feel quite diva-ish, even though I didn't ask for one. So I wasn't actually lying in the carpet at midnight - someone else did that while I was in the warm at home!"
India's murder will take place in a double bill of Hollyoaks airing from 6pm on Thursday on Channel 4. In the aftermath of the episodes, fans will be left to wonder whether Cameron could strike again.
