POTD: The trial begins in 'Hollyoaks'
Published Monday, Mar 28 2011, 08:28 BST | By Daniel Kilkelly
A big week of Hollyoaks episodes begins tonight as Gilly's rape trial arrives, proving a difficult day for everybody connected to the case.
With Myra in attendance to support her, Jacqui is first to take the stand as she gives her evidence and describes how Gilly sexually attacked her on Valentine's night.
Jacqui copes well under the pressure but when Gilly's barrister starts asking questions, brings up an incident from her past and accuses her of lying, it's a testing time for the barmaid.
Gilly's trial will play out all this week, concluding on Friday when he hears his fate. Off screen, the verdict has been decided by a real-life jury of 12 people who have deliberated the case with the help of an independent legal professional.

Hollyoaks airs tonight at 6.30pm on Channel 4.
