'Hollyoaks' actor: 'Rhys fears the worst for Jacqui'

Hollyoaks's Rhys Ashworth will fear the worst when his wife Jacqui goes missing.

Jacqui - played by Claire Cooper - vanishes after a failed attempt at seducing Rhys leads to another row. When Rhys (Andrew Moss) suggests that they spend some time apart, he presumes that she has returned to her mother's house.

"Rhys bumps into Myra the next day and realises that she's not seen Jacqui," Moss explained to Inside Soap. "He's worried. If she's not at her mum's, where is she? And with posters going up appealing for information about the serial killer, Rhys fears the worst."

Upcoming scenes see Rhys lead a search party, as the McQueens and Cheryl fear for Jacqui's safety. Their panic intensifies when a ripped item of her clothing is found in the woods.

Moss added: "Things can't get any worse for Rhys. He blames himself for Jacqui's disappearance - and everyone else blames him, too.

"Rhys should have been looking after Jacqui, but she wouldn't talk to him, wouldn't touch him and wouldn't seek help. There's only so much he can take - Rhys is at breaking point."
