'Hollyoaks' Francis wants to fleece Cindy, reveals Richard Winsor

Hollyoaks star Richard Winsor has teased his character Francis's forthcoming return to the village, confirming that he will be back to scam more money from the locals.

Viewers were led to believe that Francis was a priest until a recent episode showed that he is actually a con artist. Francis was seen heading off to Las Vegas with cash that the residents had raised for orphans in Uganda.

However, as Digital Spy revealed last week, fans have not yet seen the last of Francis as he comes back to Chester later this month.

Upon his arrival, Francis hopes to con businesswoman Cindy Longford (Stephanie Waring) out of more money, while continuing to struggle with his feelings for Carmel McQueen (Gemma Merna).

Winsor told Soaplife: "Conning is a way of life for him, but this time it has got complicated because he's developed real feelings for Carmel. She's got under his skin and it's the first time that's happened while he's been pulling off a con."

"He knows Cindy has a lot of money that he wants to get his hands on. He's got another big plan. It's to do with fleecing Cindy," he continued.

Meanwhile, asked whether Francis has a partner in crime, the actor replied: "Yes, but that's all a bit of a mystery at the moment…"

Hollyoaks continues tonight at 6.30pm on Channel 4.
