The actor has spent nearly a year in the role of serial killer Silas Blissett, who has secretly caused terror in the village over the past few months.
Since December, viewers have seen Silas murder India Longford, Rebecca Massey and Rae Wilson. He has also played mind games with Lynsey Nolan, who has suspected him of being the killer for months.
Rawle told Inside Soap: "In my entire career, this is the first time I've played a murderer. I tend to be cast as likeable losers - the victim, not the killer. I recently did a Midsomer Murders and met an untimely end in that. I'm much more used to being murdered!"
Discussing the experience of playing a bad guy, he continued: "It's the best role to have. Judy Garland once said, 'If you have to be in a soap, make sure you don't play the worst part'. She was talking about her own life being a soap, but she's right.
"As Silas, I've definitely got the best part. The rest of the cast are very jealous and are always saying to me, 'I want to play the baddy!'"
Silas recently flew out to France in the aftermath of Rae's murder but has vowed to return to continue his reign of terror.
