POTD: 'Hollyoaks' Mercedes, Riley wedding day arrives
Published Monday, Oct 17 2011, 08:35 BST | By Daniel Kilkelly
Hollyoaks airs the climax to Mercedes McQueen's love triangle storyline in tonight's episode of the soap as the wannabe WAG's wedding day arrives.
Mercedes (Jennifer Metcalfe) feels apprehensive in the build-up to the big ceremony, well aware that a number of guests are prepared to expose her affair with fiancé Riley's dad Carl.
Doug, Seth, Jacqui, Warren and Mitzeee are among those who have reason to spill the secret, so it's clear that the big day won't go as planned and there's drama ahead as Mercedes and Riley (Rob Norbury) reach the altar to exchange their vows...
PJ Brennan, who plays Doug, recently told Digital Spy: "It's a perfect, perfect wedding for a soap opera. All of the players come together and gather at the right moment, and the tension rises perfectly. We've seen a great build-up recently, but in the wedding episode itself, I do think the audience will absolutely love what happens.
"It's quite unexpected as well - there are a few surprises! The viewers are going to love it and I honestly think it's all been worth the wait."

Hollyoaks airs tonight at 6.30pm on Channel 4.
