While Riley's departure has been confirmed, exact details of his exit scenes are currently being kept under wraps.

Riley's latest storyline has seen Mercedes McQueen (Jennifer Metcalfe) manage to win him back after she framed love rival Mitzeee Minniver for attempted murder.

With Mercedes's lies spiralling out of control and Mitzeee (Rachel Shenton) currently losing her grip on reality, viewers can expect more twists and turns for all three characters before Riley leaves screens.

Riley has been at the centre of some of Hollyoaks's biggest storylines in the past two years, including the WAG wedding, Silas's reign of terror and his recent relationship dramas.

Norbury is already believed to be working on his next project, a comedy drama pilot titled Training Daze. Get the Inside Soap magazine on your iPhone or iPad
