'Hollyoaks' Savage drama boosts first look ratings

E4's Hollyoaks first look managed its highest ratings so far this year last night (Thursday, January 10), overnight data shows.

Will Savage's secret was revealed to an audience of 737,000 (3.3%) at 7pm and 134k on +1, beating January 2's visit which had 711k.

Earlier at 6.30pm, Channel 4's normal edition took 1.09 million (5.1%) at 6.30pm and 123k on timeshift.

EastEnders topped the night with 8.41m (36%) for a dramatic dinner at the Brannings', which also attracted 587k (3.7%) to BBC Three later at 10.30pm.

Emmerdale logged 7.8m (34.8%) at 7pm (+1: 115k) and 7.29m (30%) at 8pm (+1: 318k) in a double bill which culminated in Thomas King being unmasked as Chas's stalker.

Waterloo Road fetched 3.69m (15.3%) for BBC One in the 8pm hour as Phoenix left the school after winning the lottery.

Meanwhile, Home and Away pulled in 667k (3.4%) at 6pm, after which 477k (3.2%) watched 5*'s first look.

Earlier in the day, Doctors averaged 1.58m (21.9%) on BBC One for an episode titled 'This Is the Song'.
