Actress Nicole Barber-Lane reprised the role of Myra for one episode and featured in emotional scenes with her on-screen family.
With all of the McQueens now aware that Myra is still alive, the much-loved family matriarch made contact with her mother Marlena (Diane Langton) in order to arrange a shock visit.
Marlena then gathered the McQueens together at the local church to be reunited with Myra away from prying eyes.
Although Myra could only stay briefly, she explained the reasoning behind faking her death and also found time to comfort her daughter Carmel (Gemma Merna) over Jim McGinn's demise.
Myra also proved to be the most perceptive of all the McQueens as she realised that something was not right with son John Paul (James Sutton), who is currently keeping quiet about his recent rape ordeal.
Show bosses had previously confirmed plans for a surprise McQueen returnee, but kept Myra's identity under wraps until transmission.
Barber-Lane bowed out from Hollyoaks last year as Myra's dangerous feud with Doctor Browning came to a head.
Hollyoaks fans who watch the show at Channel 4 pace will see Myra's return at 6.30pm tomorrow (Friday, January 31).
