Bonus Scoop: 'Hollyoaks' Archie Carpenter

Last week, I caught up with Hollyoaks newcomer Stephen Beard to chat about his character, Archie Carpenter. Click here for the first half of the interview. If you've already been there, done that, then here are some bonus bits.

I also hear that in the New Year, he'll become embroiled in a storyline focusing on a relative of an already-established character. I can't say anything more now except watch this space.

What's his relationship like with his sister?
"He's definitely not too keen on his sister Zoe's relationship with Mike [Barnes]! As for their past, my scenes with Zoe to start with are more about the shock of her brother turning up in Hollyoaks. We definitely learn in the New Year how our childhoods were different and how our parents were with us."

Will we be seeing more of Zoe and Archie's father?
"I watch Hollyoaks a lot but I've never actually seen 'my' dad. I was speaking to Zoë [Lister] about this the other day and I was asking her if we have any more on-screen brothers or sisters. Hopefully Archie's dad will turn up on his birthday or something. It'd be great to explore my on-screen family."

Will Archie be getting a love interest?
"At first, it's literally a case that any hole's a goal - that's Archie for you! But then he falls for Sarah [Barnes]. But he gets a knock back and then we really see Archie go for it. The tactics he uses to win her around are quite funny. He really gets to like her."

What else can we expect from him?
"He's a wannabe entrepreneur, too. He has some wild ideas about how to make some money. There are a few interesting things coming up in the SU Bar, which brings about some shocks and surprises for other characters. I've also been told that we'll soon be seeing Archie's really sensitive side in the New Year."
