The refreshed 'Hollyoaks' logo

Published Wednesday, Jun 3 2009, 12:08 BST | By Kris Green | 50 comments
Those viewers who have caught episodes of Hollyoaks since Monday will have already spotted that new series producer Lucy Allan has implemented her promised "small but noticeable change" to the opening, closing and to-ad break title sequences.

For those who haven't seen yet, here's what the new ad break bumper looks like:

As you can see, the pink and blue logo has been dropped for a monochrome version, while the ad bumper character pictures have been switched to the colour variety.

I'm all for a refresh during new regimes, but I'm not sure about this one. A quick straw poll around DS Towers would agree.

But what are your thoughts? Let me know using the usual boxes below!

I think it looks good gives it a bit more edge and i think that it looks more sophisticated as everyone knows the show is changing with new characters...

I loved the old old old logo! with the Tree but i am a long time Hollyoaks fan! and am slightly nostalgic! I think the ad bumpers looked classier in black and white!

hate the new logo and the titles think its about time we seen sum new titles

i do not like this new logo its way to dark why didn't she change the titles and give them a fresh new look?
Emma Jones, on June 10th, 2009
i think they should have changed them completely and had a brand new look. Don't like this new logo, it's to dark.

Gemma from London needs to shut the hell up :) this change was a long time coming, you may have noticed that since the start of Lucy's reign as series producer the camera angles have changed and became alot more unusual and creative, these are not the only changes that Lucy is going to make, these things take time. And, I like both logos, I think the grey one is more sophisticated but the coloured one is nice aswell.

I like it, and I'm addicted to Hollyoaks right now, all those saying now Warren and Justin have gone there is no Hollyoaks are wrong, just wait and see! New characters coming in, can't wait!!!!

I like the colour picture but not sure about the title. Also they should put every character in the title sequence.

Your soap is going down the pan and gets no BSA nominations....so you change the colour of the logo. Erm.....
Georgey, Reading, on June 5th, 2009
i like the new logo especially the bit in black and white instead of the blue and pink.. its like a new generation of hollyoaks as one set of characters leave and a new set come. It looks a bit more up to date and younger to.
Amy, Manchester, on June 5th, 2009
No Warren, No Justin, No Hollyoaks in my view

I like it - I think it looks classier! I'm really loving Hollyoaks at the moment, Lucy is doing a fab job so far! :D x

i like the new logo, its different and a nice change.

That's their idea of change? A couple of changes to the opening credits? This show is awful at the moment - ill thought out storylines - uber shallow characater development and an over-reliance on using flesh to cover up the poor writing and acting. Changing the credits won't cut it.
Zara, on June 4th, 2009
the other one was better even i could make this one
Sarah, Blackburn, on June 4th, 2009
I must admit I quite like the new logo but I've still not got my head around the weird background noise in the theme tune that sounds a bit like a screech and needs some attention, in my opinion. I do agree for more of the characters to be in the opening credits and not just the younger ones too.
Shannon, Cornwall, on June 4th, 2009
love it, the grey colours are more sophisticated, whereas the blue and pink was a bit childish; i know its aimed at children but i just believe the grey tones are better. and its not dull, the reason they changed the characters ad break vids to colour was to prevent the feeling of dullness. so yeah, s'all good (: x
Anniee, Cov, on June 3rd, 2009
I think it looks much better than the pink and blue logo. The characters in colour also make it better than the old black and white version

i actually like it, quite distinctive really. good work! loving the show right now Lucy! x
