It's a crazy world.
Name: Brooke India Burfitt-Dons
Age: 20
Hometown: London
What prompted you to audition?
"I love Hollyoaks! I heard that there were going to be open auditions similar to the ones Roxanne McKee auditioned for and I checked back on the site a few times. Then, two days before the deadline, I found it and I had to give it a go. The character sounded like me, the name matched mine and I hoped that they would believe I could be their India."
Any previous acting experience?
"I've had some amateur experience, but nothing major. I've had professional singing experience, though, so I've done entertaining, but nothing like this before!"
What have you learned about the character today?
"They said she was quite innocent and that she doesn't mean any harm to anyone. She's always putting her foot in it, too."
Out of the three of you, why should you win?
"I don't know… I just hope that I'm what they see India to be. I'm a hard worker and I'm healthily obsessed with Hollyoaks, too. It'd be a dream come true. I have this list of 50 or 60 things of what I want to do before I die and this is on it, so if I achieve this at 21, it'd be amazing. Just to come this far, though, I can almost tick it off, I think!"
What's the competition been like?
"It's been fierce competition! I turned up like a wreck this morning and when I walked in, they were all beauties! So my female insecurities came out initially! A lot of the girls had already had TV experience and they were talking about it all, so I felt really intimidated! Also, I thought one of my scenes went really badly, so I didn't expect I'd make it to the top three in the slightest!"
Most gruelling part of the day?
"It was all nerve-wracking, but I think the waiting around was hard. The hardest part for me, though, was the final scenes we had to film. My nerves got the better of me - I'd seen it all on TV and I I was supposed to pretend that I'm the real deal!"
What's been the highlight for you?
"Definitely the end of the day! The relief that I'd made it through! I was really pleased with the scripts that they gave us, too. They were great to get our teeth into."
What was the funniest part of the day?
"[None] really! It was quite intense, to be honest!"
Check back later for my last interview with the remaining finalist and a quick catchup with the man who headed up the competition, Hollyoaks producer Henry Swindell.
