When 'Next Top Model' met 'Hollyoaks'

As you may have already read, next week's episode of Britain's Next Top Model sees the remaining hopefuls testing out their acting skills during a trip to the set of Hollyoaks.

The visit saw the show's contestants facing a unique performance challenge as they were asked to act out three outrageous soap scenarios in front of Hollyoaks' series producer Paul Marquess.

At the end of the task, Marquess picked out the strongest actress - who was rewarded with the prize of a speaking part in a Hollyoaks episode.

The Top Model stars returned to the Hollyoaks set the next day to film the special instalment of the Channel 4 soap. While the winner shot her speaking role, the other competitors appeared as extras.

The episode in question airs on Channel 4 on August 27 and sees the girls appearing in skimpy underwear at a special sponsored walk event organised by Steph (Carley Stenson).



Speaking of the crossover between the two shows, Paul Marquess said: "It was great fun having the Britain's Next Top Model girls come down to the set and perform for us. The scenes in which the girls feature for Hollyoaks were absolutely hilarious.

"I don't want to spoil anything for viewers but all I will say is that Duncan Button's (Dean Aspen) reaction to being in a room of hot models in their underwear makes for very entertaining viewing!"

Top Model judge Charley Speed added: "The girls had a fantastic time in Liverpool working with the cast and crew at Hollyoaks and I was genuinely impressed with how well they performed. It was a real turning point for the girl who won the acting challenge and I'm sure that the other girls will treasure the experience of being involved in a real episode of a top TV show like Hollyoaks for years to come."
