'Hollyoaks': A present from serial killer Silas

We reckon Hollyoaks serial killer Silas Blissett is the scariest villain in soap at the moment - and now it seems that he wants to involve Digital Spy in his sinister games!

Last night, viewers of E4's first-look episode saw Silas's chilling war with Lynsey take new twists when the nurse tried to play him at his own game by planting evidence on him.

However, when Lynsey's stunt backfired, she received her spookiest warning yet from Silas, who asked: "Do you play chess, Lynsey? You see, it's a game that requires patience, strategy. People think that chess is complex, but it's not. All you have to do is isolate your Queen - then finish her off…"

With that in mind, courtesy of the Hollyoaks press team, we received a little present from Silas through the post this morning - a chess piece with a message from the man himself…

Joking aside, it's a nice touch to promote what's probably the show's most gripping story at the moment. With the plot taking centre stage this week, Hollyoaks was by far the most-watched programme of the day on E4 yesterday with nearly 700k (including timeshift) tuning in for the first-look screening.

With Silas living in France, he's come and gone over the months but the plot is definitely picking up the pace now and it's only set to get better over the coming weeks when he steps up his campaign of terror against Lynsey.

As actor Jeff Rawle revealed on This Morning recently, we'll soon see Silas try to send Lynsey mad by breaking into her house at night and moving things around.

A certain Irishman has also been tipped to get involved in the story before too long…
