'Hollyoaks' Silas return, Corrie and 'Enders newcomers, E'dale exit

By
SPOILER WARNING: This article will confirm the outcome of Doctors' recent fire cliffhanger.

Hollyoaks airs Silas Blissett's return scenes in the coming days as the aftermath of Lynsey Nolan's shock death continues.

Fans were left stunned this week as Lynsey was unexpectedly murdered, bringing actress Karen Hassan's two-year stint on the soap to an explosive conclusion.

As news spreads that the cause of Lynsey's death was strangulation, an atmosphere of fear returns to the village as people begin to wonder whether Silas's reign of terror has inspired a copycat killer.

Texas (Bianca Hendrickse-Spendlove) is more affected than most by the tragic turn of events given her personal connection to the Silas case, and viewers will see her paying visits to the serial killer in a desperate bid to get answers - or at least some closure.

Silas (Jeff Rawle) is now a permanent patient at a psychiatric hospital as the authorities recently decided that he should not stand trial for his sinister crimes.

On one particular visit to Silas, Texas is startled when the cunning villain notices that she is wearing India's ring and encourages her to hand it over in exchange for information.

When Texas obliges, she is shocked by what Silas reveals…

Having heard what Silas has to say, Texas grabs India's ring back from him - which leads to him losing control with a furious outburst.

Does Silas know anything about Lynsey's murder, or is Texas barking up the wrong tree? And if a copycat killer really is on the loose, is Texas in danger?

Over on Coronation Street, viewers will see Carla Connor's brother Rob Donovan make his debut on the soap later this month.

Rob, played by Marc Baylis, arrives in Weatherfield just as Carla is having a huge argument with partner Peter Barlow.

In the build-up to Rob's arrival, Leanne becomes tired of the constant tension with Peter (Chris Gascoyne) - reaching breaking point when the troubled bookie ruins Simon's birthday party by punching Nick in front of everyone.

Sick of the whole situation, Leanne soon tells Peter that she is planning to move away with Nick and take Simon with them.

Enraged by Leanne's news, Peter seeks out Carla (Alison King) - but his timing is poor as she is busy at the factory. When Carla asks if they can talk about this later, her words only anger Peter further and he verbally launches into her - accusing her of putting work before Simon.

As Peter continues to rant at Carla, a mysterious man enters the factory and grabs Peter, ordering him to lay off Carla. Peter is stunned when a shaken Carla reveals that the visitor is her brother Rob!

Coming up in EastEnders, Masood Ahmed is delighted as his younger brother AJ turns up in Walford.

AJ (Phaldut Sharma) makes his arrival just as Zainab is heading off to a Minute Mart brand event, which will keep her away from home for a few days.

Masood (Nitin Ganatra) doesn't want Zainab to see AJ, so he orders his sibling to wait for him at the café. Later, after saying goodbye to Zainab at the train station, Masood is able to have a proper reunion with his brother.

It soon becomes clear to Tamwar that AJ has an infectious influence on Masood, and it's just like old times for the two men as they childishly start pushing each other around the Square in a shopping trolley.

However, Derek Branning (Jamie Foreman) is not impressed when they end up crashing into his car and corners AJ, warning him that if he doesn't fix the damage, he will regret it. Will AJ be intimidated by bad boy Derek?

Meanwhile, Emmerdale airs Alicia Gallagher's temporary exit scenes later this month as she is forced to say a heartbreaking goodbye.

Next week's episodes see Alicia and David go ahead with their sham wedding plan, which was hatched so David could keep custody of Jacob throughout the feisty barmaid's stint in prison. However, at the time that they exchange their vows, Alicia (Natalie Anderson) is secretly aware that Justin has backed down from the custody fight - meaning that the wedding is no longer necessary.

In the aftermath of the nuptials, Alicia is finally honest with David (Matthew Wolfenden) - admitting that she only went ahead with the wedding because she loves him. However, David is freaked out by her declaration and makes it clear that he doesn't feel the same way.

As Alicia heads to court, she is in despair over the knowledge that nothing romantic is ever going to happen between her and David. Standing in the dock, she then hears her sentence from the judge…

Over on Doctors, Freya Wilson's loved ones are trying to come to terms with her tragic death as the show returns from its transmission break.

Last month, viewers saw Freya and Kevin left in a critical condition as they were caught up in a huge fire. The drama's return episode confirms that Freya died in hospital after the blaze, while Kevin recovered.

Kevin (Simon Rivers) bravely returns to work following a short recovery period, but Freya's grief-stricken partner Mandy doesn't feel ready to take such a huge step.

Mandy (Danielle Henry) has in fact been hiding away since Freya's death, but she is given food for thought when Cherry pays her a visit - advising that she can't avoid the world forever.

When Mandy eventually agrees to return to The Mill, Howard decides that she and Kevin should be kept apart for a while - not wanting any awkwardness or tension.

Everyone does their best to keep the pair away from each other, but during lunch they come face-to-face at a football pitch where Freya used to train.

At first, things are awkward but they soon start reminiscing about Freya and even manage to laugh. Mandy reassures Kevin that he was a good friend to Freya, and he offers Mandy the reassurance she needs that Freya loved her.
