Ste (Kieron Richardson) ties the knot with partner Doug Carter in next week's episodes, but a shocking chain of events puts him in a critical condition shortly after they have exchanged their vows.
Although Ste is upbeat following the ceremony, things turn sour at the reception when he discovers that Doug's phone contains a recording of Brendan Brady confessing to Danny Houston's murder.
Shocked that Doug has gone so far to land Brendan in trouble with the police, a furious Ste goes out for some air. Standing outside, Ste is then horrified to see the sixth formers' out-of-control mini-bus heading straight towards his daughter Leah.
Driver Maddie Morrison swerves just in time to avoid Leah, but the faulty brakes on the vehicle mean that she plows right into Ste and the venue instead.
While most details of the crash aftermath are still being kept under wraps, the pictures below show that Ste at least has a fighting chance as the hospital staff do everything they can for him.
Some of Ste's loved ones will be at his bedside and even turn to the church to pray for his recovery. However, as some characters have already died as a result of the crash by this point, those who care for Ste can't help but fear the worst…

Over on Coronation Street, Kirsty Soames decides that drastic action is needed to scare off Fiz Stape for good.
Kirsty (Natalie Gumede) becomes increasingly irritated by her Underworld co-worker later this month as Fiz is continuing to interfere in her troubled relationship with Tyrone Dobbs.
Determined that Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) should stay away from Tyrone, a crazed Kirsty spots an opportunity when Fiz has problems with material jamming in her machine at the factory.
As Fiz tries to fix the machine, she asks Julie Carp to switch it off at the mains so that she can untangle the cotton. However, while nobody is looking, Kirsty flips the switch back on. Suddenly, Fiz's machine sparks back to life and her hand goes under the needle.
Pretending to be concerned for Fiz, Kirsty immediately takes control by claiming that Julie must have mistakenly switched off the wrong machine. She then offers to take Fiz to hospital, doing the perfect job of covering up her involvement.
Once the feuding colleagues arrive at A&E, however, Kirsty drops the caring façade - hinting to Fiz that she is responsible for her injury and things could get worse if she doesn't back off from Tyrone. But can Fiz prove what Kirsty has done?
