2389: Niall drugs John Paul

Finding an old passage of Kieron's as he clears the flat, the murder of his friend begins to plague Niall. When Steph comes to find Niall, she's confused, having had to lie to Craig about Jack's supposed death. When an argument spirals out of control, Steph runs off, leaving Niall confused and upset. He mopes at home until John Paul arrives in a similar shell-shocked state after Craig's offer to go to Ireland with him. When John Paul suggests he might move home to make things easier, Niall's stunned that he could be losing control of his brother. When John Paul suggests he might find happiness with Craig, Niall's decides he needs to stop John Paul leaving. As they settle to talk, John Paul has no idea that Niall's laced his beer with drugs, intending to kill him exactly the same way as he dispatched Kieron.

At The Dog, Craig's getting ready to head home, unaware Frankie and Darren are hiding Jack in the attic and unaware John Paul is unsure whether to come with him to Ireland. He sees Steph but when she, like the rest of his family, lies to him, Craig resolves he's best leaving the village sooner rather than later. Calling John Paul, Craig gives him the deadline of three o'clock to arrive to come with him to Ireland. Pushed out by his family, and feeling Steph's keeping something from him, Craig waits on the jetty to see if John Paul will ever turn up.

John Paul's lost as he contemplates Craig's offer of a plane ticket to come with him to Ireland. After seeing Myra, John Paul agrees to come home, but his mind is still not made up. He heads back to Niall's to collect his things, but runs into an upset Niall. Agreeing to stay to chat, John Paul's completely unaware when Niall deletes a message from Craig on his voicemail. Left wondering if he should go with Craig or stay at home, John Paul has no idea – time's ticking away for his last chance to go with Craig.

Amy's heading to hospital for a pregnancy scan, but is fearful the secret of the true date of conception of her baby will come out. While Michaela comes along to help Amy, she's more concerned with her crush on Mike to offer any real advice. As Amy's called in to the ultrasound room, she's forced to tell her dad the truth about her baby, leaving Mike stunned.
