Seeing how good Elliot is, Leila thinks he should enter the competition himself but he's horrified at the thought. Leila can't hold back any longer and asks Elliot over for dinner. Elliot's nervous and excited at the prospect of their date but he begins to worry if he's doing the right thing after hearing about all the possible dating pitfalls from his friends.
He's a nervous wreck by the time he gets to Leila's, but after the perfect evening, Leila confesses she likes Elliot as more than just a friend, before kissing him. However, she's left hurt and humiliated when he flees the house.
Sarah feels awkward around Lydia after using Persephone to get close to her. But when she bumps into Lydia on a band rehearsal with Hayley and Josh, she makes matters worse by having a go at Josh for the way he handled things with Amy.
It's frosty between the two girls, but Sarah's exasperated that she can't get close to her and accuses Lydia of not wanting people to like her. Lydia apologises and explains that the reason she held back was because she's had bad relationships in the past and needed to be sure that Sarah was genuine before she got involved.

Meanwhile, The Somethings perform their first gig in The Dog. Rhys is still smarting after Josh rejected him from the band and isn't happy when he hears Nev's given them a slot in the pub. As the band rehearses, Rhys can't resist having a dig and tells Josh that it's not too late to ditch them and play with him instead. But when Josh makes it perfectly clear that he had his chance and they don't need him, Rhys begins to realise what he's given up. Fed up, Rhys goes back to the flat and tries to spoil Neville and Suzanne's romantic evening, until Neville begins singing his anniversary song for Suzanne and he quickly scarpers.
Hayley's anxious about performing her first gig but she's soon set at ease when things go well. With nothing else to do, a curious Rhys goes back down to the bar to watch, but his resentment simmers as the band are going down a storm. Rhys sabotages the gig by killing the building's power, plunging the local watering hole into darkness. Josh quickly realises that Rhys is responsible for ruining their night and a fight breaks out between the pair of them.
Calvin's full of loathing for Warren but puts on an act in front of him to avoid suspicion. There's no love lost between Calvin and Mark when Mark returns from his secondment in Manchester and instantly winds him up about his friendship with Warren. After denying any involvement with him, Calvin's caught red-handed when Mark arrives at The Dog to witness Warren handing over money to Calvin for a job.
It's a race against time to prevent Mark reporting him and Calvin's left no choice but to come clean. However, Calvin truthfully reveals that he's only being friendly with Warren so he can nail him. But Mark doesn't know if he can trust Calvin and walks away, leaving Calvin's fate hanging firmly in the balance.
