2630: Daniel's arrested

Ste's confused when he finds Daniel and Abi packing their things at the flat. Abi explains that she and Daniel are going away together to have some time alone. As they're talking, the couple who are meant to be adopting Lucas call Daniel on his mobile.

Ste decides to go for a walk, believing that Abi and Daniel will be there when he returns. Daniel, however, plans to hand Lucas over and then quickly leave. While Ste's out, he bumps into Natty who attempts to convince him that Daniel and Abi have been using him. Ste returns to the flat to discover that Daniel and Abi have already left. However, he manages to catch up with them as they're about to leave the village.

Ste confronts Abi and realises that she was planning to leave and not return. In a standoff, Abi's forced to choose between giving Lucas to Daniel or Ste. Sarah, Zoe and Natty arrive just as Abi hands Lucas to Ste. She then makes a run for it, while Daniel's left alone as the police turn up to arrest him for attempted child abduction…

Meanwhile, Darren wants to spend his birthday with Cindy but Tony gets in the way. Steph takes pity on Darren and tentatively suggests to Frankie that she wants to try out a new recipe for dinner. Unaware that Steph meant that she should invite Darren, Frankie assumes that Fernando will be joining them.

In the village, Darren tries to approach Cindy, but keeps getting held up by other people. Hannah invites him for drinks at seven and Steph asks him to dinner at six.

Afterwards, Darren heads to Il Gnosh, where Cindy pushes him away because Tony's around. When Darren turns up at Steph's flat, Jack and Frankie aren't best pleased. Darren promptly leaves when Jack tells him what a disappointment he is. Darren heads over to see Cindy in the flat when she texts him to come over.

Darren talks Cindy into a night of passion but just as they are about to move to the bedroom, Tony wanders in. Hiding in a wardrobe, Darren's forced to listen to Tony and Cindy having sex.

As Darren sneaks out, Tony hears something but Cindy manages to cover. She plays the devoted lover but she's clearly unhappy with Tony. Meanwhile, Darren returns to The Dog to find an angry Hannah, who'd organised a surprise party. Darren's left feeling like he's messed up with everyone…

Elsewhere, Sarah and Zoe are concerned about Lucas and wait for Natty to turn up as he's promised to try and talk to Ste. When Zoe asks Sarah if she wants to contact Lydia, Sarah insists that she doesn't want to dump things on Lydia. Mike soon turns up, too.

While Mike wants to go straight to Abi and Daniel's flat, Sarah urges him to wait for Natty. Lydia bumps into Sarah and Zoe in the village and Sarah rushes off, claiming she has errands to run for her dad.

Later, Sarah confides in Charlotte about Lucas. Lydia feels left out at being the last person to find out but before she has time to argue, Sarah rushes off again to find Daniel and Abi - leaving Lydia behind again.

Zoe, Sarah and Natty arrive at Daniel's flat too late but in the village they turn up just in time to see Abi handing Lucas to Ste. After Ste's retrieved Lucas, Sarah tells him to hand the baby to her, but Ste insists that Lucas is staying with him…
