2897: Steph's prognosis shocks her family

Steph gathers her family around the table to break the news that her cancer is terminal.

As they all try to take in the heartbreaking revelation, Tom angrily flees the house, accusing Steph of breaking her promise that she's not going to die on him.

Meanwhile, Lynsey tries her best to act casual when Cheryl reports that Malachy might have a mystery girl on the go and later broaches the subject with him. They acknowledge that they need to keep things secret but with that, fall into a passionate embrace.

Elsewhere, Alistair tries to charm an awkward Cindy with romantic gestures; Eva attempts to spice up Anita's life by setting Duncan up on a date with her; India and Tex angrily accuse Cindy of being nothing more than a gold-digger; and Eva locks lips with Duncan when he shamefully admits that he can't kiss - as a horrified Anita watches on.
