Tony is both shocked and excited by the news that he has an eight-year-old son but wonders what Jacqui will make of it. Despite his concerns, he arranges to meet with Tessie and Harry in the park and asks Dom to keep Jacqui distracted for him. Dom reluctantly agrees, but worries this new development is going to change everything. Tony and Harry get along well and Tessie is agreeable to the idea of father and son meeting again soon but Jacqui comes upon them just as Tony and Tessie are making their farewell hugs.

Tina is nervous about her job interview but believes her lack of experience and family name will drag her down. Ross buoys her up slightly but as the interview gets underway, Mrs Webster highlights her unsuitable qualifications and Tina goes to pieces. Things worsen when Mrs Webster discovers Tina's work experience involved helping to raise Michaela – whom Mrs Webster knows only too well! Mrs Webster's disdain reduces her to tears, but a feisty Tina regains her composure and rails back at Mrs Webster for not giving her the chance. As Tina spins on her heels and marches defiantly to the door, a stunned but impressed Mrs Webster informs Tina she's got the job.

Trawling through the Internet with Lauren, Newt comes across the report about the explosion at The Dog and Sam Owen's involvement. Irked that Darren keeps blasting them as weird, Newt and Lauren decide to prove him right and gives Darren and Russ something to really talk about. However their prank falls flat when Russ takes exception to their sick joke.

Rhys and Beth both receive a letter from the solicitor about Noel's will but an embittered Rhys is adamant he does not want to be involved, angry that Noel is still messing up things even after his death. Meanwhile, Gilly reveals to Rhys he's in love with a girl he met in the village. Only too painfully aware of the agony of love after his encounter with Beth, Rhys warns him it will get him nowhere. Unable to concentrate on his assignment, Rhys takes Gilly to the SU Bar – only to find that there is no escape from the object of both of their affections – Beth.
