Blair reveals 'Neighbours' frustration
Neighbours star Natalie Blair has admitted that she is tired of her character's depressing storylines.

The actress revealed that the plots influenced her decision to quit her role as Carmella Cammeniti on the Aussie soap. She will film her final scenes next month.

"My character has gone through so much. She's become a very tortured, depressive character and there was no light at the end of the tunnel," Natalie told Australia's OK! magazine.

"After a while I'd open my script and say, 'Please give me one scene where I'm smiling'. And then I'd read the script and think, 'Damn - no smiling scenes again'."

Blair first appeared on the show for guest stints in 2003 and 2004. Following the success of her character, she was offered a permanent contract in 2006.

Natalie has vowed to find musical theatre work in New York after completing work on the programme.
