Comedian Tim Vine films 'Neighbours' cameo
Comedian Tim Vine has become the latest in a string of celebrities to film a cameo role on Neighbours, reports the Herald Sun.

Vine, currently in Australia for the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, stopped by the Neighbours studios on Monday to film the brief cameo role, describing it as a "dream come true".

"Mum and Dad are absolutely huge fans of the show, so I'm hoping they'll just be watching it one day and I'll suddenly pop up," he said. "They'll fall forwards off their armchairs if they see me on it."

The 42-year-old, best known for his roles in Not Going Out and The Sketch Show, joked that his character certainly wasn't the smartest person to ever grace Ramsay Street.

"The character I'm playing is clearly not very intelligent," he said. "They made me stand under this huge Lassiter's sign and then I had to get up and ask Elle (Pippa Black) for directions to the hotel."

Vine follows in the footsteps of recent guest stars such as violinist André Rieu, WWE wrestler Dave Bautista and indie band The Wombats.
