Woodburne talks 'Neighbours' anniversary

Neighbours legend Jackie Woodburne has revealed that it feels "bizarre and wonderful" to be approaching her 15th year on the soap.

The 53-year-old actress, who plays Ramsay Street stalwart Susan Kennedy, first appeared on the Australian series in October 1994.

"It seems both bizarre and wonderful to me that I'm coming up to 15 years on the show," Woodburne told the Herald Sun. "Even though the world of Neighbours feels instinctive and familiar, I'm still challenged and rewarded by the work.

"It has become apparent that 15 years in the second half of one's life is definitely shorter than 15 years in the first half."

Woodburne also admitted that she would love to work on a new acting project with former co-stars Marcella Russo and Janet Andrewartha.

"My friend Marcella Russo and I read scripts with the idea of doing something together in the future. We'd also try and involve Janet Andrewartha," she said. "I'd love to work with those two, but for now I'm happy to direct my energies into Susan."
