Exclusive: Bonner "proud" of loyal 'Neighbours' fans

Neighbours actress Carla Bonner has praised the unwavering support shown to the iconic soap by its fans.

Yesterday, the 36-year-old said that it "gets up her goat" that some people think it is "uncool" to watch the soap.

However, Bonner insisted today that she is "proud" of the show's loyal fan base. She told DS: "Those that are too cool for school are definitely in the minority. I'm very proud of our massive fan base in Australia and very grateful to those loyal supporters who have stuck by us throughout the years, plus the new wave of viewers coming through which is fantastic for the future of Neighbours."

Last month, Neighbours scored a rare ratings victory over Home and Away in Australia after it received a boost from the popularity of the reality cooking series MasterChef Australia and strong storylines.
