Brewer: 'Neighbours plot challenged me'
Neighbours newcomer Ashleigh Brewer has admitted that she found her early scenes challenging due to the emotion required for her storyline.

The 18-year-old's character Kate Ramsay was forced to deal with her mother Jill's (Perri Cummings) death in a car accident shortly after she made her first appearance in the show earlier this year.

Reflecting on her introduction, Brewer told Holy Soap: "I was thrown into a heavy storyline straight away when Kate's mum died. It was hard and it was a challenge.

"I'd just started a new job and was having to commute, and I was taught the fast pace of the show straight away, so that was a good experience. I've never worked somewhere that moves so fast. It's great."

Paying tribute to her co-stars, she added: "I worked a lot with Jackie Woodburne (Susan) [and] Kym Valentine (Libby). They're seasoned pros and they know what they're doing. It's great to sit back and watch them, and say, 'Ah, that's how they do it'."

Brewer had made small appearances on Australian shows Blue Heelers and H20: Just Add Water before landing her Neighbours role.
