Allen nearly missed 'Neighbours' cameo

Singer Lily Allen almost missed her opportunity to make a guest appearance on Neighbours.

The 24-year-old filmed her cameo earlier this year alongside soap stalwart Alan Fletcher (Karl Kennedy) and Matthew Werkmeister (Zeke Kinski).

Speaking to WENN about the origins of the role, the '22' singer revealed: "It was really weird but poor Todd, my manager, always has to... pass on things. People will send him requests and... he runs them pass me... every couple of weeks."

She added: "[He] went, 'Neighbours called, they wanted you to go and be in a scene for the day, so obviously I passed'. I said, 'What are you talking about? Why would you do that? Neighbours is brilliant!'. So we did and we flew out there."

Her cameo was screened in Australia on September 8, before airing to 1.7m viewers on November 10 in the UK.
