Sorensen 'glad Bridget wasn't forgotten'
James Sorensen has praised Neighbours producers for their handling of his character's new romance storyline.

Australian fans of the long-running soap will soon see Sorensen's alter ego Declan Napier preparing for his first date with Kate Ramsay, played by Ashleigh Brewer. However, moving on from his late wife Bridget Parker (Eloise Mignon) proves to be a struggle, throwing his new relationship into jeopardy.

Sorensen has now claimed that show bosses made the right choice by showing how Declan is still grieving for Bridget.

Speaking to TV Week, the actor commented: "I'm glad that, some months down the track, all wasn't forgotten."

On Declan's dilemma, he said: "It's such a sad situation. Declan really does like Kate and she feels the same way about him. But his heart won't let him move on."

Brewer recently promised that Kate and Declan's romance would progress "very tastefully and very slowly".
